The Hunger Games

Hey everyone,

So I just bought The Hunger Games on dvd. Love it! Since it's late and I'm tired, tonight is going to be a short blog post. One that YOU can be a part of.

I have a question. The Hunger Games, what do you think of it? Yes, it's a little violent and the plot seems a little strange, but give it a chance. I thought I would HATE it. Instead the book turned out to be my favorite book and the movie turned out to be my favorite movie.

If you are going to watch or read it, just be aware, you'll cry at the sad parts, laugh at the funny parts, and, scream at the scary parts. I did.

So write a comment below stating your thoughts on The Hunger Games.

Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Scat By Carl Hiaasen

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I didn't blog yesterday, again I've been really busy. Today I'm gonna write a review on Scat  by Carl Hiaasen.
It's a brilliantly written book. It's about a teacher who goes missing, but is she really missing? Her students go looking for her but come across many different people (and animals) along the way.
This book is a page-turner-never-put-down. The only badish thing would be that you really have to think about it along the way and really take it in. The story is constantly shifting between different peoples point of view.

Other than that, this story is amazing. You can tell that the author really thought about how the story was going to be written. The plot was so clever. I have been reading Hoot now, another Carl Hiaasen book, but I still can't stop thinking  about how amazing and well written Scat was.

When I first heard of it, I didn't think I was going to like it. Then, I opened the book, read the first sentence and BOOM! I couldn't put it down!

Well I could go on and on (and on and on) about how amazing this book was but I think three paragraphs is enough.

I think I'm going to re-read it. Oh that's a good idea, I'm gonna go get it. Got to go, don't bother me, I'll be reading! :)

Smile :)

Hey Everyone,

So sorry that I didn't blog yesterday. I've been really busy. I was thinking about what to blog about today and I couldn't think of anything. So I looked through my old documents and found a poem that I want to show all you fun gals. It's called Smile, here it is:

Smile

Don't be sad
Don't get mad
Just smile
Don't feel down
Don't even frown
Just smile
Don't go away
Don't threaten today
Just smile
Don't  yell
I won't tell
If you smile

The reason I wrote this poem is because I thought it was just an inspiring message, that's also why I shared it with you guys. Now, I may not be the best poet but I really wanted to get this message through to you guys.

I don't think I'm the only one trying to get this message out to you guys....

Anyways, always smile and be happy, and if you're not happy, then stop not being happy and get happy.

Here are ten FUN things!

    Kinda self explanatory...
  2. Have a dance party.
Turn on any type of music and jump around
    .
  3. Make up a language
    mix letters, words backwards, ANYTHING!
  4. Makeovers in the dark
Lights go off, makeup goes ON!
  5. Paint each others nails
Pick a color and paint it!
  6. Get dressed up in funny clothes.
Pick up really crazy clothes that would would never touch and try 'em on

    1. Make Crazy food creations!
Open the fridge, grab random things and mix them together!
    2. Write a song.
      About anything.
    3. Choreograph a dance.
Doesn't matter if you're a dancer or not. Turn on the music and get funky! :)
And last but not least: HAVE FUN!!!
Doesn't matter if you're doing one of the above (I highly suggest that) or not JUST HAVE FUN!

So, get a pal and have a sleepover and try one of these fun activities. That's what I'm going to be doing tonight.  Just remember, sleepovers aren't actually for SLEEP!

    Howe Caverns

    Hey Everyone,

So today I went to Howe Caverns in the Catskill Mountains. In case you don't know, Howe Caverns are deep under ground caves. Pretty cool, actually.

Now all of this seems cool and awesome, but with some pros, comes some cons. For one, they built stuff into it like a walkway and railings and telephones. That takes away some of the natural beauties of the cave. Some of the things were actually man made, not made by water like the beautiful rest of the cave.

Now I don't want to seem like I'm just ranting and raving, but there is one more con. At the beginning we go over some rules. One of those rules was that no touching the walls of the cave. If you touch the cave it stops it from growing, which you don't want...

Part of the tour is a boat ride. The way the tour guides steer the boat is by pushing off the walls. Why can they break the rules that can get us thrown out? Now that wasn't the only thing that bugged me about the boat ride. I think the boat ride had no point to it at all. The tour guides didn't talk the whole time we were on the boat! Silly tour guides.

Well, let's talk about the good stuff now. It seemed as though the tour guides were knew what they were talking about and knew how to throw humor in at times.

Another pro: They had more than just a cave, they had a ropes course, zip-line and a place where you could mine for rocks! How cool!

Overall, Howe Caverns would be a good place if your looking for something to do. Just make sure you don't bring anyone who could go Cave Crazy!

A Big Change For a Big Artist

    Hey Guys,

So here's the new Justin Bieber As Long As You Love Me video. It's a totally different style from when he first started with One Time.

It's definitely a big change. What do you guys think of the change? I think that he is a growing artist and if he kept with the same music style, it would just end up boring. I think he is hardworking and really dedicated to his music so if he didn't think that he was ready for a big change, he wouldn't do it.

His new album Believe is a totally different style for him and it's really great. He sings each song with passion and you can tell his love for music. Go Justin!

Anyways, let this post tell you to try new things and be aware of what's out there!

Well I got to go hang more Justin Bieber posters up!

    Have fun with Fun gal!

    Hey Everyone,

So here's my new blog. You may have seen my fashion blog, which didn't work out in the end, but Fun Gal is here to stay! Well, just because the name of the blog is Fun Gal doesn't mean that it's not for boys, because there isn't gonna be any personal stuff or anything. That would be creepy...This is for fun. Fun Gal!

So I'll tell you about myself. I go to a little private school about an hour away from New York City. I love to hang out with friends and family. I LOVE MUSIC!! Dancing is my favorite sport and honestly, I can't think of anything better to do than to DANCE! I love reading, especially on rainy days.  My dog and cat are the best, although my cat can be a little mean...I can prove it, I have the scars...I'm not joking. That's pretty much me.

You know how I said that I like to hang out with my friends? Well, I was with my friend today and it was raining super hard. We were trying to think of things to do, and we came up with a great plan. Yup, we were gonna go outside, and dance in the rain. We went outside and just started randomly dancing. We opened the back door to see if my dog wanted to come out. She sniffed the rain, thought about it, then walked away. Classic my dog. With my friend, I ran down the driveway and splashed in big puddles.

After a while of just having fun, we saw something running towards us. Now I don't mean to scare you, because it was just my dog. Squinting her eyes to keep the rain out of them, she kept running until she reached us. I stuck my hand out to pet her, then realized that wet dog wasn't the best feeling in the world...

After that we went inside to enjoy more fun, dry activities. Anyways my point is that when you're bored on a rainy day, GO OUTSIDE. Who says you can only play outside when it's sunny? Well, now I'm stuck with my eyes glued to the computer...but that's fun too, right?
